Job Description Baxterstorey is seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our team in Babraham. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of our kitchen and maintain our high standards of culinary excellence. Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management Oversee daily kitchen operations, including staff supervision and scheduling Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations Maintain quality control and consistency in food preparation and presentation Manage inventory, place orders, and control food costs Train and mentor junior kitchen staff Step in for the Head Chef when necessary Contribute creative ideas for new dishes and menu improvements Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent customer service Qualifications Culinary degree or diploma from a recognised institution Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a professional kitchen Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent culinary expertise and knowledge of various cuisines Proficiency in menu planning and food cost control Up-to-date food safety certification In-depth understanding of kitchen operations and food service management Knowledge of dietary requirements and current food trends Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Additional Information For almost 20 years, for every client, in every location (whether that’s an office, stadium, cathedral or university), we have created beautiful spaces, exciting menus and friendly teams, so that each and every customer can have the hospitality experience they deserve.
