Health Safety & Training Manager / H&S Manager
A leading FMCG Chilled Foods Manufacturer is currently seeking a Health Safety & Training Manager to join their business on a permanent basis. This business can offer fantastic learning and development opportunities for you to grow your career.
Reporting into the Site General Manager and working with key stakeholders on site and within the Group, you will be responsible for implementing, coordinating, and managing health, safety, and training policies and procedures to group standards. You will be responsible for managing site compliance, providing guidance, advice, induction, and ongoing training.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours PW, 8:30 am - 5 pm but some flexibility on hours.
Health Safety & Training Manager Responsibilities include:
* Carrying out regular and comprehensive risk assessments and maintaining records to ensure management has access to up-to-date safety records.
* Assisting in maintaining standard operational procedures, which identify and take account of all relevant hazards, both current and new.
* Overseeing that safe working procedures are developed and implemented and assisting with reviewing and writing new processes and procedures.
* Ensuring the continuous maintenance and development of Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
* Maintaining a working knowledge and complying with all national and local regulations, standards, codes, and company policies, and advising employees and management on regulatory issues.
* Assisting in the development and delivery of in-house training and management of training records and compliance reporting.
* Compiling incident and accident statistics and supporting the company’s objectives for an incident-free culture.
* Performing internal Health and Safety Audits and preparing for external Health and Safety Audits.
* Carrying out monthly H&S meetings with the site management team and site H&S champions.
* Investigating and attending all accidents/incidents that occur and collating all information to create reports.
* Establishing a positive cultural attitude towards health and safety.
Skills & Experience required: We're seeking an experienced Health & Safety professional with experience of working within an FMCG Manufacturing Environment. Must have NEBOSH General (or equivalent) as a minimum. Experienced in training and able to display strong presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to train staff at all levels.
