The Technical Training Manager will lead a team of subject matter experts (SME) in the gathering of technical data to support the development of courseware and media. The Requirements Team SME will be suitably qualified and educated personnel (SQEP) who understand the technical data required, the sources of that data and how to access that data. The Requirements Team will identify and gather the necessary technical data required to support the development of training courseware and media and the delivery and handover of the courseware to the training deliverers at various sites. The Technical Training Manager will work with the Courseware and / or Media Team Leaders to identify technical data requirements for the development of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) courseware and media. Having identified the data requirements, the Technical Training Manager will develop a strategy and timeline for the collation of information with the Training Requirements Team allocating collection responsibilities to team members. Technical data requirements that will need to be considered will not only be those that support the development of courseware and media, but also required for the effective delivery of the courseware across several delivery sites. Main duties will include:
* Work as a member of a team responsible for the analysis, design, maintenance, review and production of DSAT Documentation & processes for RN training sites and organisations.
* The direction of the Requirements Team, identifying and collecting relevant technical data to produce DSAT compliant documentation and ensure it can be effectively delivered.
* Interviewing subject matter experts to collate required data, participate in internal workshops to discuss and agree findings from analysis.
* Work with the customer and the customer's agents and suppliers to identify technical data required for courseware and media development and also routes to obtain the data.
* Work with the courseware and media content developers to contextualise training and language and ensure correct conditions and standards are applied to the training solution.
* Conduct the upkeep, update and revalidation of course technical data.
* Identify where training methods and media currently in use in the MOD may be exploited to better develop and deliver the programme's courseware.
* Be 'Responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement'.
* Any other duties required to complete the T31 Training Service.
Excellent communication skills at all levels both internally and within the customer organisation
* An excellent understanding of the specific operational and maintenance environment which courseware is being developed to support
* Experienced and capable of working within a team
Desirable:
* Experience in the development and delivery environment and have contributed to the design of significant training courses.
* Experience in the use of programme management tools and applications
* Training and/or Instructional Design Detailed knowledge and practical experience of: UK Ministry of Defence procedures and policies Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).
