We are looking for a passionate and skilled Sous Chef/Senior Chef De Partie to join our kitchen team and help us continue to provide fantastic meals for our guests.

Job Summary:
As the Sous Chef, you will be the right hand to the Head Chef, responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, and managing a team of kitchen staff. You will play a key role in maintaining the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring that every dish is prepared to the highest standards. The role requires a motivated and adaptable individual with a passion for food and a commitment to excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Head Chef in creating, developing, and refining the menu.
2. Supervise and lead kitchen staff, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen.
3. Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest quality standards, following recipes and presentation guidelines.
4. Manage food preparation and ensure that all ingredients are fresh and stocked in accordance with health and safety standards.
5. Monitor and maintain kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards.
6. Help train, mentor, and develop junior kitchen staff, promoting a positive work environment.
7. Ensure stock levels are maintained, assisting with stock rotation and ordering of supplies.
8. Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure timely food delivery and customer satisfaction.
9. Assist in managing kitchen schedules, ensuring appropriate staffing levels for busy shifts.
10. Handle food wastage control and maintain accurate food costing records.
11. Step up to cover the Head Chef role in their absence, ensuring that the kitchen continues to run smoothly.
Skills & Experience:
1. Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen role within a pub or restaurant environment.
2. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and health regulations.
3. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
4. Strong leadership and team management skills.
5. Ability to work efficiently under pressure, especially during busy periods.
6. A passion for food and creativity, with a desire to continuously improve.
7. Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
8. Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
