The Role As the Kitchen Manager at Calvert Exmoor, you'll play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety while promoting a collaborative, positive work environment. Our kitchen team is made up of passionate, team-oriented individuals who are dedicated to delivering outstanding guest experiences. You’ll bring a solid understanding of kitchen operations, food safety regulations, and inventory management to the table. Your proactive approach will be essential in overseeing meal preparation for a wide range of guests, including those with dietary restrictions and special needs. We're committed to serving high-quality, nutritious meals, and as Kitchen Manager, you'll ensure that every aspect of the kitchen runs smoothly. With a focus on consistency and care, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with the same team and guests throughout their stay. Attention to Detail: Excellent cooking skills with a good understanding of produce and ingredients. Awareness of food allergens and special dietary requirements. Communication: Strong, clear communication with kitchen staff and suppliers. Organisation: Ability to prioritise and delegate effectively. Planning: Ability to write menus which are creative and within budget. Problem-solving: Quick thinking and ability to resolve issues calmly whilst under pressure. Experience: Previous experience as a head chef or in a similar kitchen management role. Qualifications: A professional cookery qualification. Food hygiene and safety certificates. Skills: Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety regulations, and budget management. Other: Excellent customer service with the ability to work a variety of shifts which include long hours and early starts and evenings and weekends on a rota basis. Own transport due to rural location.
