As part of Detection and Measurement, Radiodetection is a global leader in the design and development of equipment and software used by utility companies to install, protect, and maintain underground infrastructure networks. Through precision and magnetic locators and ground penetrating radar, we help prevent damage to infrastructure utilities and protect lives.
JOB SUMMARY
As Quality and Testing Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end Quality of all Radiodetection products and cloud solutions. You will be a member of the Radiodetection R&D Leadership team and will shape our organization to deliver best-in-class quality products faster to the market. You will lead a team of Test engineers and be directly responsible for their work and career development. You will ensure they deliver professional test plans and strategies to ensure good test coverage with clear pass/fail criteria during project execution.
You will be a driving force in improving and shaping processes and tools across our organization to:
1. Implement Quality from the early stage of product development,
2. Detect problems early,
3. Support fast resolution of critical quality issues,
4. Provide full transparency of the product maturity at various stages of the project execution,
5. Recommend releasing projects based on facts and field call rate forecasts.
You will lead the investigation and resolution of complex quality issues, requesting a cross-functional approach using tools like 8D.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Define and execute the overall R&D quality and test strategy to deliver best in class quality products faster to the market.
* Lead the Test team to deliver and execute Test strategies and test plans of projects on time.
* Represent Development Quality and Testing through stage gate process from Idea to Launch.
* Shape processes, tools and KPIs to:
1. Implement Quality from the early stage of product development,
2. Detect problems early,
3. Support fast resolution of critical quality issues,
4. Provide full transparency of the product maturity at various stages of the project execution,
5. Recommend releasing projects based on facts and field call rate forecasts.
1. Lead the resolution of complex quality issues, requesting a cross-functional approach.
2. Work with Customer Service to improve test coverage leading to a lower field return rate.
3. Hiring and firing.
4. Support the RD Engineering team in embracing a continuous improvement framework, helping RD become stronger.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Experience in development quality and people management.
* Experience in creating end-to-end test plans and report writing.
* V Model and CI /CD.
* DOE, FEMA, DFSS, 8D experience.
* HALT, Electro-mechanical testing, Climatic testing & Failure Analysis.
* Test Automation.
* Strong understanding of QA methodologies.
* Enthusiastic technologist, able to demonstrate a broad technical knowledge.
* Compliance Testing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Education / Experience:
* B Eng / M Eng / BSc / MSc Electronics & Software.
* HND / HNC Electronics & Software.
