The Payroll Manager - EMEA is a critical leader within the global HR function, responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of payroll, compensation, and benefits across EMEA.
Reporting directly to the Global Pay + Reward Director, this role will also oversee payroll delivery and benefits administration for the EMEA region, ensuring both are delivered efficiently and as a ‘best in class’ service to the business and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee end-to-end payroll processes across all EMEA countries, ensuring 100% accuracy and timely execution. Continuously improve payroll systems and workflows to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.
2. Support the global annual salary, bonus, and reward review process, collaborating with the HR Business Partnering team and Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
3. Manage the full lifecycle of benefits administration, from implementation to renewal, ensuring that all programs are fit for purpose, cost-effective, and compliant with local legislation. Lead negotiations with benefit vendors and ensure seamless communication of benefit offerings to colleagues.
4. Take the lead for EMEA legal entity rationalization projects from planning stage through to completed implementation.
5. Establish communication and engagement plans in conjunction with internal communication teams to ensure colleagues have an understanding of and engage with the reward offering.
6. Ensure all compensation, payroll, and benefits programs are in full compliance with regional legislation, tax requirements, and company policies. Lead audits and ensure timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
7. Drive continuous improvements in payroll delivery, benefits administration, and compensation processes by implementing best practices, optimizing systems (e.g., Zendesk and Dayforce), and ensuring high-quality service to colleagues.
8. Lead, mentor, and develop the Payroll EMEA team to ensure high performance, ongoing professional growth, and delivery excellence across the region.
9. Assist the Global Pay + Reward Director in any merger and acquisition due diligence and transitional activities around payroll and benefits.
10. Be a member of ad hoc project teams to ensure all areas of rewards and benefits are at the forefront of our colleague experience.
Knowledge, Skills + Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related discipline or similar field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Solid experience in HR Payroll, Benefit and Compensation management, including people management experience.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of Payroll, HRIS, and HR benefit back-office operations.
4. Experience in departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change.
5. Strong payroll and benefit skills, especially in configuration and reporting.
6. Strong Excel skills, especially with data analysis.
7. Experience working within fast-paced, high-energy environments.
8. Willingness to set strategy and also roll up your sleeves.
9. System/payroll management experience in Dayforce is desirable.
10. Ability to work under pressure balancing day-to-day priorities with project work.
11. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
12. Strong analytical skills.
13. Commercial and regulatory knowledge.
14. Occasional travelling may be required.
