Sous Chef
Salary: £35k-£40k
Hours per Week: 48 hours plus
We are searching for an experienced, skilled, and driven Sous Chef to lead our kitchen. Our English restaurant kitchen is a busy and fast-paced environment, catering for up to 200 covers per day, as well as for private dining and events. Our modern menu is focused on originality and provenance, including seasonal vegetarian dishes, fresh sustainable fish, and rare-breed meats. The ideal candidate must be passionate about food, possess a creative flair, and be able to lead and manage their kitchen team effectively.

What Does the Role Include?
1. Crafting excellent and unique modern British dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients
2. Putting forward new menu items that use innovative techniques and push the boundaries with industry trends
3. Training and inspiring your team to deliver food to be proud of; including overseeing and directing food preparation and ensuring the dishes are to our Funky Monk standard
4. Managing all ordering and stock control
5. Rota and schedule planning, as well as maintaining records of payroll and attendance
6. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and standards
Minimum Requirements:
1. Previous experience in leading a high-volume and high-end kitchen is essential, and experience in catering for large events is preferable
2. Individuals with five years or more relevant experience in a similar position of at least equivalent status to a Senior Sous Chef position
3. Self-motivated professionals with excellent attention to detail
4. Real passion for cooking seasonal ingredients and creating showstopping dishes
5. Ability to work under intense pressure
