About the Venue Co-op Live is proud to offer a food and beverage hospitality service that stands head and shoulders above the rest. As the largest venue in the UK, we welcome over 23,500 fans per event and host more than 125 events annually, bringing fans and world-renowned artists to experience the unique flavours of Manchester. With 32 incredible bars and restaurants, 15 premium lounges and clubs, and our newly relaunched Premium Outlet, HIDEAWAY, designed by the famous Simon Rimmer, we deliver exceptional hospitality for Manchester and beyond. Role Purpose Were excited to announce we are looking for talented Sous Chef To support the GA Head Chef (General Admission) in managing all aspects of culinary operations, ensuring the efficient, high-quality delivery of food across multiple outlets within the venue. The Sous Chef upholds food safety and quality standards, manages kitchen staff, and assists i n executing large-scale events to provide a seamless dining experience for guests. You will play a crucial role in team leadership, operational efficiency, and ma intaining c ompliance, ensuring that all culinary services reflect the arena's brand standards and meet high-volume demands. I n this role, y ou will be a part of an awesome team of colleagues who instinctively strive to exceed expectations, to support us in creating the best live music experience in the UK. In this role you will Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Provide hands-on support during busy shifts, ensuring smooth operations and timely service while upholding quality standards. Conduct performance reviews, support skill development, and assist in onboarding new team members, ensuring all staff are well-equipped for their roles. Manage inventory levels by overseeing stock rotation, minimizing waste, and ensuring ingredients are consistently available for menu requirements. Salary: up to £36,000 per annum Knowledge, skills & Experience Experience working in an event-driven environment with the ability to meet tight timelines, particularly in high-capacity settings such as arenas or large venues. In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP & COSHH and allergen management. Strong culinary expertise with experience in high-volume, multi-outlet settings, capable of executing a range of menu items from concessions to fine dining. Strong organizational skills to coordinate multiple kitchen stations, maintain smooth operations, and prepare for varying service demands. Skilled in delegation, task management, and performance assessment, with a focus on continuous improvement. Ability to provide constructive feedback and support staff development, ensuring team members meet quality and safety standards. Relevant culinary certifications, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery, or equivalent experience in a high-volume setting.
