Job description We are seeking to appoint a talented, creative and enthusiastic Junior Sous Chef to join the Kitchen Team. You will be a dedicated and experienced Chef with a career built in a similar environment. You should be qualified to NVQ level 3 Professional Cookery or equivalent experience. The College caters for Fellows, students, staff and guests on a daily basis. Successful candidates will report to the Executive Head Chef. Duties: - Under the direction of the Executive Head Chef: - Oversee (across all areas of the kitchen) the preparation, cooking and presentation of food - Contribute to the creation of new menus working alongside the Executive Head Chef, Deputy Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef - Ensure high levels of food safety standards and working practices within the kitchen are maintained, adhered to, and in accordance with current regulations - Assume the responsibilities of the Executive Head Chef, Deputy Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in their absence - Assist the Kitchen Administrators in the creation and placing of food orders in accordance with the needs and requirements of the business and ensuring minimal wastage - Liaising with suppliers and providing cover for this process in the administrators' absence - Manage and assist the receipt and storage of all provisions - ambient, fresh and frozen, in accordance with current food hygiene regulations including correct stock rotation and storage Possessing relevant qualifications and experience with an exceptional track record of delivering to the highest standards is essential, and also be genuinely passionate about your career.
