Learning Designer (12 Month FTC)
People are the beating heart of Newton, and our success and outstanding client impact is reliant upon the extraordinary talent that call Newton home. It is our mission to help great people experience extraordinary careers whilst enabling impactful, sustainable positive change in the delivery of service within some of the largest employers in the UK and beyond.
Best-in-class learning and development is crucial to enabling our people to continue to solve the most challenging problems and have a massive impact. Our new skills framework will underpin our learning and development ecosystem. We are looking for a Learning Designer to lead the redesign of our current learning programmes against the framework and design, deliver and curate new interventions that positively impact performance.
Role
As part of the Talent team, this role will help ensure everyone in the business gets the learning they need, when they need it. Working with some of the brightest minds in the industry, it will bring a unique perspective to how we design and deliver learning and development initiatives and will be seen as an L&D expert across the business. Key parts of the role include:
* Conducting robust Learning Needs Analysis to provide clarity on the intended outcome of all learning interventions
* Collaborate with internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design learning interventions
* Building industry-leading, innovative and flexible learning pathways
* Designing soft skills training that focuses on positively affecting performance at the point of need
* Producing simple multimedia learning solutions that reach learners wherever and whenever they need it
* Evaluation and continuous improvement of learning interventions
* Collaborating with external learning professionals to design blended, in-house learning interventions
There is significant scope for development in this role and the responsibilities outlined above are just the start. You could progress in various directions depending on your talents, from becoming more hands-on with the ad-hoc development of individuals and teams across the business or taking on greater data responsibilities to managing the L&D technology infrastructure: the possibilities are huge.
You'll be supported with a significant amount of personal development, a robust development plan, regular performance and development discussions, and your own development manager, whose aim is to help you fulfil your career ambitions and expand your horizons.
You'll report to our Talent Design Lead, and help them to shape our talent pathways.
Requirements
You'll be a high calibre individual, with exceptional levels of personal drive and eagerness for personal development. You will ideally have demonstrable experience of designing career pathways and learning interventions in a professional services environment, or have a strong understanding of competency frameworks and career pathways within a consulting firm, but this is not essential.
You will be bubbling over with passion and excitement about the opportunity this role has to unleash potential in our gifted community, and be attuned to how best to achieve this inclusively within our diverse population.
You will have a passion for innovation in learning design, exploring creative ways to develop others, with experience designing high quality programmes with evidenced impact.
The skills or experience we would expect you to evidence include:
* Experience in designing and delivering creative and sustainable learning
* A track record in improving performance through high-quality learning interventions
* Proven ability to build learning pathways and curricula
* A curious nature coupled with creative problem-solving skills
* A strong attention to detail
* Sound time management skills and the ability to prioritise and navigate busy workloads
* Able to work independently but also collaborate broadly across the business
* Natural stakeholder management skills, both with SMEs and learners
