Learning & Development Manager
37 hours per week, Job Grade AfC 8A - current salary range
The Facilities & Estates team provides NHS Grampian with essential services to enable the delivery of care to patients, and to support staff and the public in our healthcare locations.
The primary purpose of this role is to:
1. Plan, coordinate and implement a comprehensive programme Learning and Development activities for the Directorate (around 2500 staff)
2. Plan, control and assure the mandatory technical training for the maintenance and project teams
3. Act as primary link with the NHS Grampian HR function (including workforce & development, people & change)
4. Design and deliver Directorate-specific non-technical programmes (including development of supervision and management skills)
5. Support Heads of Service with the design and delivery of service-specific learning programmes and team development interventions
6. Coordinate Directorate and service-level workforce planning, carrying out appropriate analysis, interpretation and planning. This includes overseeing the Directorate programme for apprentices.
7. Line management for 2 x Health & Safety Training Facilitators and the L&D Administrator
8. Contribute to, or lead on, strategic L&D initiatives within and beyond the Directorate, which have a direct impact on the recruitment, capability and retention of staff
To apply for this post, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Educated to Master’s Degree level or able to evidence equivalent experience
2. Professional/Postgraduate Qualification in L&D discipline e.g. Chartered Membership CIPD or evidence of equivalent development and experience
3. Recognised assessor and verifier qualifications
4. Evidence of continuing, relevant professional and personal development over the last 5 years.
5. Evidence of experience in the design & delivery of bespoke learning and development interventions
6. Programme management experience.
7. Practical and theoretical understanding of change management.
