The Opportunity:
The UK’s #1 Digital Solutions Provider seeks a talented Automation Tester to support a Central Government Agency in ensuring high-quality QA automation testing across its digital services.
The Role:
As an Automation Tester, you’ll be essential to delivering high-quality products by designing, executing, and automating tests within an Agile team. Working closely with product and development teams, you’ll define acceptance criteria and the “Definition of Done” (DOD) for stories, ensuring thorough test coverage.
Your role includes both automating and performing exploratory tests to validate features, collaborating with developers to integrate tests seamlessly, and defining end-to-end tests with the product team. You’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining automated tests, validating Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs), and keeping stakeholders informed of test progress and quality metrics.
Additionally, you’ll promote a culture of quality and actively support Agile practices like retrospectives and planning sessions, ensuring best practices and continuous improvement are met. Through your expertise and collaborative approach, you’ll drive high standards in all stages of product development and delivery.
Essential Requirements:
* 5+ years of Automation Testing experience in Agile delivery teams using TDD with Java and a strong foundation in JUnit.
* Familiarity with PACT frameworks for Consumer Contract testing and an understanding of CI/CD pipelines in Automation Testing.
* Proficient in command line and scripting languages (Windows or Linux), with good coding skills in SOLID principles, DI, and Design Patterns.
* Ability to unit test frameworks, with expertise in API testing using Postman, and proficiency in Cypress and Docker for container testing.
* Experience with GitLab for test automation storage and familiarity with tools such as SonarQube, Jenkins, Splunk, Gatling, Serenity, Cucumber, Selenium, Wiremock, Hamcrest, AWS CloudWatch, Jira, and Confluence.
* Experience with mocks and stubs, advanced knowledge of DevOps and Agile development, and the ability to lead projects and design test strategies.

* Base Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (DoE)
