We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic Head Chef to join our innovative and growing family here at The Green Cornwall.
We are a luxury wedding retreat nestled in the tranquil Cornish countryside close to Devon. Set across 14 acres of beautiful landscapes, where we host the most fabulous weddings all year round, and pride ourselves on providing the very best service and comfort to all our guests. We host any size of wedding from a small intimate elopement to a large and extravagant affair for up to 140 guests.
Our Head Chef will be involved in crafting imaginative dishes for our guests. Developing canapes, and all other food offerings. Responsible for the management of the kitchen, the team and budgets.
Our guests stay on-site for two days and are fully catered for throughout their stay including meals upon arrival, breakfasts, canapes, buffets, and the main event, The Wedding Breakfast.
What we are looking for in our Head Chef.
This role requires someone that can inspire a team, to bring out the potential and lead by example, whilst being able to develop and produce menus in line with business needs. To oversee all culinary operations at The Green and consistently deliver on the overall food vision.
* Demonstrate a passion for leading and developing a team.
* Be an active hands-on team player with excellent communication skills.
* Be responsible and able to manage the kitchen staff rota, training and all health and safety effectively at all times.
* Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills, necessary to maintain effective controls with regard to both costs and labour.
* Self and team motivation, energy and attention to detail at the forefront of everything you they do.
* Ability to demand an organised, impeccably clean and well-presented environment.
* Understanding the responsibilities around kitchen management including staffing budgets, cost control, food safety stock management, product consistency and quality control and will have the energy to drive continuous improvement amongst the culinary tea.
Experience required.
* Previous experience in a similar environment and role
* Stickler for hygiene and be able to demonstrate best practice.
* Outstanding knowledge of food and technical skills
* Youll feel comfortable in a fast-paced, busy environment.
* You must have an approachable, positive and proactive manner.
* Great leadership within the kitchen when needed.
* Budget and cost control experience
