Berry Recruitment are currently seeking a Sous Chef for our client based near Watford
Role Overview:
As a Sous Chef, you will be supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, from preparing and cooking high-volume dishes to supervising kitchen staff.
Pay rate: £14.50 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week, flexible shift times, must be available to work weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
2. Prepare and cook high-volume dishes to the highest standards.
3. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed.
4. Supervise kitchen staff and ensure smooth service during peak times.
5. Contribute to menu planning and development with creative and seasonal ideas.
6. Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed.
7. Ensure consistency and quality in every dish that leaves the kitchen.
Requirements:
8. Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a pub or similar high-volume cooking environment.
9. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen equipment.
10. Excellent time management and organisational skills.
11. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
12. A passion for cooking and a creative flair.
13. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
14. Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate
