This includes managing departmental budgets, organising schedules, managing a fleet of training vehicles and making sure employees are aware of their duties. You will also actively seek out new opportunities to ensure departmental growth. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to communicate in an effective and professional manner at all times. They must also have experience of supervising or managing a team, as well as fleet or transport planning. Day-to-day duties Management of transport planning within the Logistics department. Management of all employees within the Logistics department. Working closely with all account managers and key stakeholders to maximise selling opportunities. Ensuring departmental financial targets are achieved. Ensuring that the fleet is managed effectively, while closely monitoring costs. Ensuring all audit and compliance requirements are met for awarding and governing bodies. Ensuring vehicles are safe and meet all legal requirements. Ensuring all employees fully understand their roles and responsibilities. Essential skills and experience Requires excellent communication skills Ability to manage a team, with experience of fleet planning and coordination Experience in managing a budget The ability to multi-task and implement change when necessary Strong planning and organisational skills The ability to communicate with all stakeholders across the business Experience within a logistics planning environment is advantageous but not essential.
