Keel Tavern is a new and exciting bar situated in Sunderlands Keel Square. Our team is passionate about food and hospitality, and we are looking for a talented Sous Chef to join us.
As our Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in assisting our Head Chef with daily kitchen operations. You will oversee kitchen staff, ensure that high standards of quality and sanitation are maintained, and contribute to the development of new dishes. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and driven professional who wants to take their skills to the next level.

Key Responsibilities as a Sous Chef:
* Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing food preparation in the kitchen.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring all team members meet our company standards.
* Maintain consistency and quality in daily food presentation and menu development.
* Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper stock levels using order sheets.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
* Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of KP area.
Qualifications as a Sous Chef:
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant.
* Food Safety Level 3 desirable but will be provided if necessary.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train staff.
* Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* A passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
* Ability to work independently.
