Job Title: Sous Chef
We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our award-winning team as a Sous Chef. If this sounds like the right place for you, we would love to hear from you!
About the Role
Your primary focus as Sous Chef will be to support the Head Chef in leading a culinary team that provides a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality culinary service. This service contributes to the overall well-being of residents and is delivered within budget.
Additional responsibilities include:
1. Preparing modified diets that are appealing, well-balanced, and in accordance with IDDSI guidance.
2. Supervising and directing culinary staff, providing instruction and demonstration on food preparation activities.
3. Ensuring all food handling meets the highest hygiene standards, understanding safe food handling principles.
4. Supporting team members in understanding the Avery Food Safety Management System.
About You
To succeed, you must embody our values of caring, support, honesty, respect, and accountability.
The ideal candidate should:
1. Hold a relevant catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, NVQ, or equivalent.
2. Have at least 1 year of catering experience.
3. Demonstrate compassion and a commitment to providing high-quality culinary services.
4. Be adaptable and flexible to cover various responsibilities at short notice.
