What are we looking for in our Data Engineer?
Location: Cheltenham (Onsite)
Pay Rate: £700 per day inside IR35
Due to the nature of the project, the candidate must hold Active DV Clearance.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the client mission team and make a real difference to a key IT transformation. The team is currently expanding its data science capabilities within the analyst community, and ongoing support is needed to assist analysts on this journey. To respond to this challenge, we are building a team to own and deliver the mission’s innovation and capability development projects, leveraging technology to maximize our mission impact.
This role will further develop analyst-developed capabilities and interface with wider engineering teams supporting stakeholders, ensuring effective and sustainable delivery in line with software best practices. The successful candidate will also play a key role in managing the capability innovation lifecycle, transitioning prototypes into production at the appropriate time, and re-scoping or rebuilding capabilities as needed to meet enduring mission and user requirements.

Previous experience could include:
* Iteratively developing solutions for customers
* Working with user communities to understand their capability requirements
* Implementing software best practices (code review, version control, testing, etc.)
* Using Python and data science techniques to solve problems
* Providing mentoring and training for community members
* Leveraging Cloud technologies, techniques, and approaches to drive innovation
* Familiarity with architectural concepts such as IaaS, PaaS, FaaS, and related technologies
