Ashley Kate is pleased to be working exclusively with a well-established engineering firm in Sheffield on a brand-new Part-time HR Director role. You will be reporting directly to the board of Directors and supporting and leading the people strategy as the company undertakes a transformation journey following PE investment. This role will be roughly around 4 - 5 days a month dependant on what is needed from the business, and you will need to be flexible in terms of approach and availability. Working initially on a range of complex Employee relations issues you must have a strong understanding of UK Employment Law and be able to handle sensitive situations in a timely manner ensuring that the best commercial solution is met. You will have ideally worked with unions and be able to navigate any consultations meetings in a professional manner following up with concise and accurate paperwork. You will also need to be the strategic lead in terms of the full employee life-cycle, and you will be responsible for ensuring that all policies, processes are fit for purpose. Then ensure that the business has a a strong focus in place around Talent, succession and retention. Part time HR Director role - about you You must have operated at a Senior Executive HR level previously Strong UK employment knowledge is essential and ideally knowledge of working in a unionised environment. It would be highly advantageous if you have worked in an engineering, manufacturing or similar environment You must be CIPD Level 7 qualified or equivalent The base is Sheffield and so you will need to be on-site and able to work 1 day a week and the client's needs.
