Our prestigious client situated on Princes Street is currently seeking a Temporary Senior Sous Chef on an ongoing basis. This is a temporary role with no end date.
Pay rate of £18.00 per hour dependent on experience and qualifications.
The Senior Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a strong background in culinary arts.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen.
2. Strong leadership and communication skills.
3. Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
4. Experience in fine dining.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
6. Manage food safety and sanitation regulations.
7. Culinary degree or equivalent work experience.
8. Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating delicious dishes.
Responsibilities:
1. Assisting the Head Chef in creating and implementing menus.
2. Oversee food preparation and cooking activities to ensure consistency and quality.
3. Train and supervise the kitchen staff, including the line cooks and food preparation workers.
4. Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed.
5. Ensure that all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed.
6. Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new dishes and improve existing recipes.
7. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
8. Assist with special events and catering functions as needed.
9. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Hours of work are x4 10hr shifts per week; however, some flexibility is required. This role will be for a Fixed Term duration of a minimum of 12 months.
