About THG Eco and the Role
THG has recently published its 2030 sustainability Strategy – THG x Planet Earth, with the long-term goal of leaving the world better than we found it by utilising our unique capacity for innovation and incorporating sustainability into every decision we make. THG Eco was developed in 2019 to provide simplified sustainability solutions and services to support customers towards their own sustainability journey.
Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the individual will be working closely with wider THG Eco management and the Group Sustainability Team. The role will be a catalyst for change, driving increased level of account activity, accuracy and support all aspects of THG Eco.
The Sales Executive is to drive recommendations and solutions to improve the THG Eco awareness on all aspects of sustainability, driving the business to become a leading sustainability supplier in the UK, achieve our THG x Planet Earth targets, and support our customers, partners, and suppliers.
The role will be responsible for driving and delivering the THG Eco sales strategy, and fully supporting all aspects of the business customer base.
Responsibilities:
1. Sharing the THG journey and how its 45 brand and 20 years experience, has enabled the scaling of a market leading More Trees offer and solution
2. Consulting with prospects on the THG Eco solutions, the challenges the planet faces, and why our solutions will support improvements
3. Understanding from your experience and training, how best to maximise the THG Eco solutions
4. Utilise your network and ability to identify and engage prospects
5. Working closely with Head of Business Development and Head of Sustainability for THG Eco to support you to grow a stable and opportune pipeline
6. Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships
7. Build comprehensive contract strategy
8. Compile Account Development plans for major clients
9. Develop and implement tactical plans to achieve sales targets and expand the prospect and future customer base
10. Approach potential clients through cold calls, email, LinkedIn, existing relationships, promotional events
11. Preparing and presenting business presentations and proposals for prospective clients
12. Managing sales funnel processes and associated reporting
13. Managing customer / supplier contracts, purchase orders, and invoicing

18. Strong analytical skills so to understand key business indicators and competitive trends, and develop approaches to these challenges
19. Highly innovative problem solver: possessing strong interpersonal, multi-tasking, organisational, and project planning skills, and demonstrating ability to meet aggressive deadlines
20. Demonstrated previous experience in a Sales role, strong negotiations skills, and the proven ability to close high-volume sales
21. Demonstrated ability to implement strategic business development plans that align with organisational goals, driving growth and revenue
Requirements:
22. At least 2 year’s experience independent sales and account management, ideally work experience supporting a range of projects and functions
23. At least 2 year’s experience of handling key cross-functional stakeholders
24. Experienced with customer acquisition and operations
25. Have a proven track record of driving growth and exceeding revenue goals
26. Have a proven ability of presenting to customers / stakeholders at varying levels
27. Must be self-motivated and directed, having strong follow up skills and pay close attention to detail
28. Understanding of business practices and market trends
29. Strong strategic thinking and the ability to drive revenue growth through innovative sales approaches
30. Advanced skills in MS Office
Preferred Qualifications:
31. Industry understanding of sustainability consulting, carbon accounting, and/or carbon markets (inc. commodity trading)
32. An understanding of carbon accounting, reporting and target-setting standards (e.g. GHG Protocol, SBTi, TCFD)
33. Experience in participating in and leading webinars, roundtables, and/or fireside conversations with clients or partners
34. Formal sales training / qualifications
35. Valid UK driving license
