Job Purpose
The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering training programmes aimed at enhancing employees' and franchisees skills, knowledge, and performance. This role focuses on fostering a culture of continuous learning, supporting personal and professional development, and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Design & Delivery:
Develop, implement, and deliver engaging and effective training programmes across various topics (e.g., soft skills, leadership, compliance, technical skills).
Create training materials, presentations, and activities to support learning objectives.
Use a variety of training techniques and technologies to ensure learning engagement and effectiveness.
Training Needs Analysis:
Conduct training needs analysis through PDPs, surveys, focus groups, and performance assessments.
Collaborate with department heads and managers to identify skill gaps and training needs within teams.
Training Coordination & Scheduling:
Work with the L&D Administrator to organise training schedules and ensure that employees are informed about upcoming sessions.
Coordinate logistics, including location, equipment, and materials for training sessions.
Evaluation & Feedback:
Measure the effectiveness of training programmes through post-training assessments and feedback from delegates.
Use feedback to continuously improve training materials and delivery methods.
Mentorship & Support:
Provide ongoing support and mentorship to employees post-training to ensure knowledge retention and application of skills.
Offer one-on-one or group coaching to employees when necessary.
Reporting & Documentation:
Working with the L&D Administrator track training attendance, progress, and completion.
Maintain up-to-date records of all training materials, attendance reports, and evaluations.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
Educated to degree level or CIPD Level 5 in Human Resources, or Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience as a trainer, facilitator or learning and development specialist.
Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of instructional design and learning methodologies and principles.
Ability to engage and motivate learners in both virtual and face-to-face settings.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training tools/software.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Thorough, and accurate with strong attention to detail.
The ability to be flexible and adaptable.
Strong Stakeholder Management.
Proficient I.T Skills in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.
Must hold a full UK driving licence.
Desired Qualifications:
Certification in Learning & Development (e.g., CITP, CPLP).
Experience with e-learning platforms and content creation tools.
Knowledge of specific industry-related training or compliance standards.
Working Conditions:
Full-time, office-based position, with the option to work at home 1 day a week.
Occasional travel will be required for training delivery at different company locations.
Flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate training schedules.
