Location: Office Base is London Television Centre. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.

BBC Studios TalentWorks is part of the Global Digital Brands team at BBC Studios. Specialising in powering fandoms and connecting global digital audiences through social-first content for global brands such as BBC Earth, Bluey, Top Gear, Funny Parts and Doctor Who.
BBC Studios TalentWorks identify and develop talent-led content ideas for BBC Studios brands and original IP. Whether it's working with YouTube stars Dan Howell and Phil Lester, launching Di's Salon for Radio 1, or producing Creator Lab for Public Service, our team partners with some of the most exciting talent around.
THE ROLE
Leading the Development Team, The Head of Talent Development is responsible for ensuring the origination of bold and ambitious talent-led ideas that can progress successfully from development to production/commission.
Responsibilities:
* To drive forward innovative proposals that connect with our audiences and ensuring they are delivered, as commissioned.
* To drive collaboration and partnerships both internally and externally to help fulfil our creative ambitions.
* To lead and motivate the development team, ensuring that the talent-led vision is communicated and understood and that the editorial specification is realised.
* To project manage from beginning to end, ensuring that all legal and financial agreements are completed on time and to budget.
* Work closely with BBC Studios Programming teams to develop ideas for a diverse audience, relevant to the brand.
* Drive new IP ideas forward, with a strong understanding of the commercial opportunities for all.
* Inspire and generate creative ideas in own team and wider department.
* Ensure output adheres stringently with all relevant BBC policies & standards including data protection.
* To analyse relevant market data and audience consumer trends, to provide forecasting intelligence which drives new development ideas & new campaign opportunities, in a creative way, across all appropriate platforms & broadcast channels.
* Be a key representative of the BBC at internal and external events.
* To maintain a strong relationship with appropriate talent management companies.
* Line management of Development Producer.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA;
* Extensive experience in development, with line management experience.
* Sound understanding of the media industry, specifically the creator economy and how it is developing with new technologies and platforms.
* A track record of realising talent-led creative ideas from conception to reality within the constraints of limited resources and challenging deadlines.
* Experience of securing on-screen talent, at a range of budgets, for content.
* Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.
* Experience of financial and legal responsibility. Strong planning skills and ability to manage projects and budgets to budget and deadline.
