We are looking for an outstanding Head Chef who's passionate about food and wants to make a real difference.
The successful applicant will be working on a full-time basis creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.
Cygnet Kenney House is our purpose-built, flagship Acute/PICU & Mental Health rehabilitation service located in Oldham, set to open its doors in Early 2025.
Developed in collaboration with the NHS to support women from the North West to be treated closer to home, there will be three wards at Cygnet Kenney House:
The PICU and Acute environments will offer rapid access to care, supporting women to move quickly and safely through to the most appropriate and least restrictive setting.
The mental health rehabilitation and recovery ward (level 2) will support individuals moving on from the Acute ward, as well as external referrals from other services such as secure, CAMHS, prison services, and more.

Your day-to-day...
* Liaise with the Hospital Manager when planning/costing menus in order to provide a balanced nutritious diet, making the best use of fresh foods as available.
* Prepare, cook, and serve meals, hot and cold, as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining and managing the food budget.
* Provide special diets where necessary, as well as taking into account the preferences of individual clients.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff in the use of all equipment and hygiene procedures.
* Maintain an accurate record/list of food supplies, freezer temperatures requirements, etc. where requested/required.
* Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures.
* Be responsible for the washing up after meals and the overall cleaning of the kitchen and, where appropriate, the dining area.

* A skilled Chef who can work under pressure
* Preferably experienced in the care sector
* Able to plan nourishing & attractive menus within available budgets
* The holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards
* Polite & professional, with a positive attitude towards internal & external guests at all times
* An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
* Able to work under your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
