About the role
We are currently looking to recruit a permanent Kitchen Manager for our purpose-built extra care scheme based in Swadlincote. The scheme caters for the needs of people aged 55 and aims to help them live life to the full.
To manage the kitchen in line with the budget to deliver a high standard of food and service for the customers, including considerations of specific dietary requirements in line with CQC regulations.
You will be joining a well-established team within an assisted living complex that caters for both residents and external customers via our busy Bar/Bistro.
We are looking for someone with a passion for quality, local produce; an eye for presentation; the ability to assist management with seasonal menu planning; confidence to run the kitchen and manage a back of house team/waiting team appropriately; and the capability to undertake food preparation as well as manage service.

About You
* Have a fantastic working knowledge and understanding of the kitchen including product knowledge.
* Excellent Customer Service - delivering superior customer service to all guests
* Knowledge of maintaining food costs and expenditure
* Excellent knowledge and training in Food Safety legislation
* Good Communication skills
* Hands-On Approach
* Experience of working in a busy commercial kitchen
* Manage EHO and Health and Safety audits to a high standard
* Establish and organize rotas in the kitchen
* Excellent time management skills
The role will involve working 40 hours per week on a rota basis which will include early shifts, straight day shifts, late shifts, and some weekends.
Mandatory training will be provided; additional training to promote development and opportunities will also be available for successful candidates.
