The Government Economic& Social Research Unit (GESR) is a friendly team, sittingwithin HM Treasury's Economics Group. We provide support to theGovernment Economic Service (GES) and Government Social Research(GSR) professions.
We provide resourcing for theGovernment Economics Service (GES) and Government Social Research(GSR) across the Civil Service. Our work is fundamental in ensuringcontinuity and quality for these established professions. GESEconomists provide economic analysis and insight in support of theentire range of UK Government and public service activities.Supporting policy development, public service delivery, ministerialobjectives, or meeting at pace the issues of theday.

Aboutthe Role
This is an excellentopportunity to join us, managing recruitment in the operations teamfor the Government Economic and Social Research (GESR) team. We areoffering the opportunity to work across Government with a varietyof partners, providing a professional and effective service thatmeets business needs and quality standards. There is a large degreeof operational delivery & team leadership within this role, andit also has a meaningful focus on quality assurance and continuousimprovement.
Keyaccountabilities include:
1. Plan andmanage delivery of the end-to-end process for all centralised GESand GSR recruitment schemes to provide timely and high qualityresources to fill upwards of 500 vacancies a year across 40departments, agencies and ALBs.
2. Manage GESRrecruitment systems, ensuring processes are working effectively forend users, the recruitment team are appropriately trained and enduser guidance and standard operating procedures are up to date.
3. Support the Head of GES Resourcing, coveringcore duties during leave periods and provide support to theRecruitment Campaign Managers, problem solving or highlightingissues as the need arises.
4. Lead and maintaindetailed recruitment project plans, monitor performance againstcritical metrics and agreed standards.
5. Developand mentor the team of two recruitment campaign managers and onerecruitment business support in sharing your knowledge andexpertise, building capability and confidence, to ensure theeffective delivery of day to day recruitment campaigns.
