KONE have an excellent opportunity for a Lift Tester to join our Installation team on a full-time basis. We are calling for applications in or around Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Gateshead, Middlesbrough areas.
Key accountabilities:
1. Commission the lift in accordance with the agreed specification parameters
2. Test the lift in accordance with the relevant test documents and KONE standard interpretation of EN81, Lift Directive and/or Design (Essential Health & Safety Requirements compliance)
3. Take measurements and complete the necessary documentation
4. Record any abnormalities for corrective action or inclusion in H&RA for the lift/site
5. Carry out final inspection and sign the Final inspection document
6. Liaise with relevant site personnel to ascertain state of lift
7. Take part in meetings and work groups related to quality and technical issues
8. Is responsible for the lift well security (safe for other trades and public etc) and safety of all persons involved in the installation activities during commissioning and testing of the lift
9. Report the condition of the lift to the Supervisor who is responsible for site activities
Qualifications and previous experience:
1. Minimum 50-70% of NVQ4 or equivalent Lift Engineering qualification. We provide opportunity to complete NVQ4 with KONE
2. Previous experience as a Lift Tester
3. Familiarity with operating systems e.g. Windows, basic understanding of networking concepts (LAN, WAN)
4. Good written and spoken English
5. Clear UK driving licence
