Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Executive Head Chef:
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations.
- Contribute to menu planning, creating innovative dishes, and ensuring a diverse culinary experience for our guests.
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.
2. Leadership and Supervision:
- Provide guidance, training, and supervision to the kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and apprentices.
- Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork, creativity, and excellence.
- Lead by example, inspiring the team to consistently deliver exceptional cuisine.
3. Food Preparation and Cooking:
- Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes, utilizing your culinary skills and creativity.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented according to the resort's high standards.
- Monitor food portioning, quality, and consistency to exceed guest expectations.
4. Operational Excellence:
- Uphold the resort's strict food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Assist in inventory management, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs.
5. Guest Satisfaction and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to meet guest requirements and preferences.
- Respond promptly to guest feedback, inquiries, and special requests.
- Contribute to creating a memorable dining experience for our guests.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end hotel, resort, or fine dining establishment.
- Extensive culinary knowledge and expertise, with a passion for creating exceptional cuisine.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and inspire the kitchen team.
- Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work under pressure.
- In-depth understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to contribute to menu development, ensuring variety and innovation.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Relevant culinary qualifications and certifications are preferred.
