Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for culinary excellence, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Duties:
1. Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation
2. Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented according to established recipes and quality standards
3. Monitor food production to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning
4. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and specials
5. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
6. Assist in managing kitchen costs by controlling waste, portion sizes, and inventory levels
7. Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional development
Requirements:
1. Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting
2. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, flavors, and presentation
3. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
4. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
