Summary for Accessibility Tester Role
This role is seeking an experienced Accessibility Tester to join a Tier 1 Microsoft Partner, specialising in Microsoft Business Applications accessibility testing. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accessibility testing framework tools like Axe, Pa11y and similar for cloud-based business applications such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform and open-sourced REACT/NEXT.js. This role involves building and implementing a reusable framework, as well as developing and maintaining the test plans.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Experience
* Conduct comprehensive accessibility testing of digital services, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.2 standards (A, AA, AAA), summarising into Accessibility Reports.
* Collaborate with different stakeholders and the User Centred Design team to identify and address accessibility barriers for users with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, or cognitive impairments.
* Utilise assistive technologies such as screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver), keyboard-only navigation, and tools like WAVE, AXE, Accessibility Insights and magnification tools etc to perform manual testing.
* Build and implement a reusable accessibility testing framework using tools such as Axe, Pa11y and similar for cloud-based business applications, data analytics and front-end web solutions such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform and open-sourced REACT/NEXT.js, supporting project-specific and client-requested accessibility requirements.
* Develop and maintain test plans, accessibility audit reports, and actionable remediation recommendations.
* Provide guidance to development teams on integrating accessibility standards into design and development workflows.
* Deliver structured knowledge transfer sessions and documentation to internal teams, enabling them to scale and maintain accessibility testing frameworks for future projects.
Optional and Desirable
* Experience in GOV UK Central Government programmes
* UK Security Clearance
* Comfortable in interacting with both technical and business stakeholders in large organisations
* Experience in advocating for and importance of building accessible software
Key Details:
* Initial 3 month contract
* Outside IR35
* Remote - May have some adhoc travel on site if necessary
* MUST be UK-based
