Job Description
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Lead Data Engineer to join us. The role holder will be lead in all technical aspects of the data engineering projects whilst working closely with solution architects to ensure the integrity and consistency of end-to-end technology solutions.What you'll be doing:
1. Ensuring the solutions developed and deployed are fit for purpose and fit for use, meet the business requirements, adhere to quality standards and deliver value within cost constraints.
2. Ensuring all developments follow the agreed change process.
3. Working with security architecture to ensure all solutions are fully approved.
4. Providing input into project and resource plans and support business case production.
5. Working within an agile methodology framework.
6. Overseeing solution development including implementation engagement as needed.
7. Applying knowledge of technology options and survey external market landscape for solution insights, direction, and vendors, as required.
8. Identifying issues and risks and lead their resolution as required.
9. Identifying and implement opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in existing services.
QualificationsWho we're looking for:
10. Degree in appropriate subject preferable or equivalent qualifications or demonstrable evidence of relevant business/work experience at this level.
11. API and RESTful micro-services
12. JVM based languages such as Java & frameworks like Spring Boot
13. Cloud Platforms with an emphasis on AWS. Knowledge of other platforms advantageous (Azure, GCP)
14. Knowledge of Linux & AWS CLI scripting & automation
15. Good knowledge of CI\CD automation
16. NoSQL Database Technology such as MongoDB
17. CDC and streaming technologies such as Qlik Replicate & Kafka
18. Basic data architecture principles, solutioning and ETL experience and containerisation
19. Knowledge of database structures such as relational and dimensional modelling and design
20. Designing and developing streaming services
21. Designing and developing APIs
