Reward Manager
Sudbury / Hybrid (1 to 2 days per week in Sudbury office)
£50,000 to £55,000 per annum DOE

We have an exciting career opportunity for an expert in the field of reward to join our dedicated team at Sue Ryder as our Reward Manager. This newly created role within our People directorate will manage the continuing development of the Charity’s appropriate and competitive reward strategy and proposition. Maintaining a robust approach to governance and stakeholder management, you will play an integral part in educating the People Directorate and Senior Leadership Teams in the application of the Reward Strategy.
About the role:
The Reward Manager will provide guidance and direction to the organisation, influencing the positive impact of all reward decisions.
You will:
1. Drive employee engagement through the effective deployment of all remuneration and benefits activities.
2. Manage the ongoing development and implementation of an integrated, competitive, affordable and robust Reward Strategy.
3. Provide expert advice and guidance on all elements of reward.
4. Develop the Charity’s reward knowledgebase to accurately manage, monitor, track and report on reward matters.
5. Build external networks.
6. Provide education and guidance to Line Managers to drive employee engagement through reward.
7. Critically review current policies and practices and proactively recommend new and innovative solutions.
8. Manage the introduction of any new employee benefits from inception to implementation.
9. Work closely with benefit providers, agents and advisers.
10. Ensure national statutory reporting is completed, including Pay Gap reporting and ONS data requests.
11. Provide any reports required by HMRC, industry bodies and healthcare and the wider Charity sector.
About you:
1. Proven knowledge of reward and benefits work, related legislation, governance and practice.
2. Experience of contributing to the development of reward related policies.
3. A sound knowledge of all aspects of reward including role evaluation and benchmarking, short- and long-term incentives, cash and benefits.
4. Ability to adapt style to different audiences and cultural differences and influence where appropriate.
5. Highly numerate with advanced Excel skills including the ability to analyse complex data and extract appropriate information.
6. Able to demonstrate experience of pay modelling and costing of proposals.
7. Strong project management skills and experience in managing reward projects.
8. An ability to work in a complex environment with an ability to manage conflicting priorities.
9. Ability to write clearly and concisely, producing papers, reports, policies and other documentation.
10. Meticulous attention to detail.
