Data Engineer Hybrid - London / 2 days remote Circ £50,000 - £60,000 Excellent Bonus An exciting opportunity is in the offering for a Data Engineer that would thrive working within a fast paced and collaborative work environment where there’s a real buzz and sense of energy. Our client is a successful global ecommerce business that also sells products via a wide range of outlets and stores all over the world. They’ve been expanding at pace and still have ambitious plans in place to take the business even further. The Data Engineer will be joining a small and growing team that is the hub of our clients global data & analytics operation. Having implemented a new MS Fabric based Data platform, the need is now to scale up to meet the demand to deliver data driven insights and strategies right across the business globally. The role would suit a mid-level data engineer, or a junior engineer with 2 years experience looking to take the next step up. Previous experience with MS Fabric would be beneficial but it’s not essential as long as you’ve worked in a similar role with MS Azure Data Platforms, Synapse, Databricks etc.Key Responsibilities include; Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems. Utilize Microsoft Fabric to ensure seamless data orchestration, integration and management. Implement, optimize and maintain data storage solutions using SQL databases. Develop, deploy and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports. Ensure data quality, consistency and reliability through effective data definition and observability practices. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions. Monitor and optimize data infrastructure to achieve high performance and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner. Key Experience, Skills and Knowledge: Proven 2 yrs experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on SQL, Microsoft Azure Data platforms and Power BI an advantage Solid understanding of data definition, observability and data quality best practices. Proficiency in development languages suitable for intermediate-level data engineers, such as: Python / PySpark: Widely used for data manipulation, analysis, and scripting. SQL: Essential for querying and managing relational databases. Exposure to data science concepts and techniques is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid role based in Central / West London with the flexibility to work from home 2 days per week.
