The Role of the Head Chef
We are seeking a head chef whose philosophy is underpinned by the health and wellness benefits of good diet and nutrition. You will develop and deliver the dining operation in a sector-leading, behavioural-health clinic specialising in the treatment of addictions.
Our mealtimes and the food we serve are the highlight of the day. We are seeking someone who daydreams about food and is passionate about creating 'surprise and delight' moments to wow our guests with every meal.
We want someone who will bring flair, passion and ingenuity to the role.
We are a small private clinic. Each service caters for no more than 20 to 35 people in a high-end 'canteen' style. Our kitchen operates within sociable hours, with the kitchen team collectively covering 8am to 8pm Monday to Sunday.
Responsibilities of the Head Chef
The architect and guardian of the highest standards of food and service.
Develop and deliver seasonal menus using freshly-sourced, local ingredients that highlight the healing properties of food.
Managing a small team of chefs and assistants responsible for preparing three beautiful meals daily for our guests and the team.
Maintaining an exceptional level of compliance and cleanliness befitting a regulated healthcare setting.
Ensuring that the front of house demise and drinks/ snack stations are kept in well-stocked and in perfect order throughout the day.What we're looking for in a successful Head Chef
Previous experience working as a Senior Chef, Personal or Private Chef or events Chef.
Able to evidence your passion for and understanding of the health benefits of food and ingredient pairings.
Excited to educate our guests on the health properties of your meals and the ingredients used.
Comfortable delivering your menus to between 20-35 covers per service with exacting quality and consistency.
Prior experience managing, coaching and developing a small kitchen team to meet the high standard in your absence.
Holistically minded and believe that food can be curative and restorative as well as exciting and delicious
Live to create small batch menus using the best locally sourced and seasonal produce.
Obsessive about the raw ingredient
