We are seeking a passionate and creative Head Chef to manage and oversee the kitchen and its brigade at a beachfront restaurant in Littlehampton, West Sussex. This is an ideal opportunity for a Head Chef who not scared of challenge and is prepared to dig deep to put the restaurant back on the food map and take the business forward. Under the direction of the General Manager, you as the Head Chef will be responsible for the smooth running of all aspects of the BOH operations, including food safety to staff training and development, and supplier relationships. You must also have strong financial awareness to achieve food margin and wage margin targets, while not compromising on quality. You must be capable of creating and rolling out menus to 2AA Rosette standard, producing menus and dishes that are fiercely seasonal, and ingredient driven. Along with having an exceptional technical ability, it is also just as important, if not more so, for you to have strong social skills, leadership and communication. Responsibilities: Develop and execute innovative menus that showcase the best of seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, following the brief and guidelines. Manage kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering, scheduling, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring the highest quality and freshness of ingredients. Collaborate closely with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional guest experiences and ensure seamless service. Lead and mentor the kitchen team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence. Requirements: 3 previous years’ experience as a Head Chef is necessary Proven track record of menu development and creativity. Strong financial awareness, with experience managing kitchen budgets, controlling costs, and driving profitability. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence.
