About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Drama Teacher to join a secondary school in the Chertsey area. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a thriving Performing Arts department.
As a Drama Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5, fostering a passion for drama and performance among students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drama and theatre, with the ability to engage students of all abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver creative and engaging Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5.
Develop schemes of work that encourage students to express themselves and build confidence.
Prepare students for practical assessments, performances, and GCSE or A-Level examinations.
Promote teamwork, communication, and self-confidence through performance projects.
Organise and support extracurricular activities such as drama clubs, school productions, and theatre trips.
Provide feedback and monitor student progress to help students achieve their full potential.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Performing Arts curriculum.Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a Drama Teacher who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Has experience teaching Drama at secondary level, including GCSE and ideally A-Level.
Demonstrates a passion for drama and the ability to inspire students.
Is confident in creating engaging and innovative lessons.
Has excellent classroom management skills and the ability to maintain high expectations.
Is committed to ongoing professional development.Candidate Requirements:
Experience leading school productions or extracurricular drama clubs is highly desirable.
A background in theatre performance, directing, or stage management would be an advantage.
The ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners.
