Senior DEWALT Academy Training Manager
Purpose – WIN WITH THE YOUNGER PROFESSIONALS

Securing the engagement of younger trade professionals is essential for the company's long-term growth. Raising awareness of our company, brands, and products among this demographic is a critical driver for future success. Our strategy involves engaging with apprentices and young trade professionals early in their education and careers to foster brand loyalty and product familiarity.
We aim to support college lecturers by offering expert product training that encompasses both safety and operational guidelines, preparing students for their careers as qualified tradespeople. Additionally, obtaining a recognised certification in DEWALT power tools will enhance students' employability upon completion of their training programs. Training and education will be central to achieving this objective.
Key Tasks
* Recruitment of the team to deliver the programme in the selected markets, UK/ROI, France and Central Europe.
* Goal setting and day to day management of the DEWALT Academy Training Team.
* Collaborate with the Senior Trade & End User Transformation Manager to formulate a training programme aimed at engaging young trade professionals and educational institutions.
* Support the conducting of thorough research to understand the demographics, prior knowledge, learning preferences, and specific needs of our target audience.
* Support the development of appropriate training materials aligned with the strategy and research feedback.
* Coordinate with the brand team to ensure all training materials adhere to brand guidelines.
* Establish relationships with technical colleges to become the power tool trainer of choice for our industry.
* Supporting and providing guidance to Trade Schools ensuring they are compliant with ever-changing regulations.
* The delivery of training to key targeted colleges once the curriculum and training material has been developed.
* Measure all training activity to provide full accountability and ROI.
Competencies and Skills
* Understanding the distinct pedagogy of trade schools.
* Specific trade knowledge and experience of working on the “jobsite” as a qualified trades person.
* Skills to develop the right level of instructional material suitable to the target audience.
* Communication skills for the delivery of training for the established training programmes.
* Relationship building skills, to develop strong ties to colleges to accelerate the programme across our region.
* Collaborator; be disciplined to work remotely and in person with a multi-cultural team on a day-to-day basis.
Key Relationships
* Product Training Development Director – Setting strategy, goals and measurement.
* Senior Trade & End User Transformation Manager – Research, development and delivery of the programmes.
* Group Training Manager Power tools – Support to build engaging training programmes for DEWALT.
* Senior Digital Training Manager – Support in building out engaging training programmes for DEWALT.
* EMO Product Managers – Ensuring training material meets market expectations and requirements.
* EMO Brand & Communication team – Ensuring all training material follow brand guidelines.
* PCM Director – Building engaging incentive programmes to support the Win with the younger Trade Professionals.
Knowledge & Experience
* Be a qualified trades person in one of the following fields: Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing or Concrete work.
* Experience of working in a trade school environment.
* Must be an English speaker.
