Role Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative English and Drama Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English and Drama classes, around 9 hours of teaching per week plus planning and preparation time, over 2 full days or 4 mornings, depending on availability. The English classes are free of external examinations and can be curated by the teacher, allowing for creative and personalized teaching methods. The Drama class culminates in an annual show in the winter, so experience in producing and directing drama shows is highly advantageous.
All worked hours are remunerated £26/hour.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver engaging and innovative English lessons that inspire a love for literature and language.
* Curate English classes to suit the interests and needs of the students, including EAL and SEND students.
* Develop and deliver collaborative and engaging drama classes, guiding students in the exploration of theatrical techniques and performance.
* Produce and direct the annual winter drama show, working alongside the students and other staff members.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to take responsibility for their learning.
* Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and dynamic educational experience for students.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in teaching English and Drama to students aged between 14 and 19.
* Excitement for innovative teaching methods and the ability to inspire students.
* Experience in producing and directing drama shows is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with students.
