Senior Permanent Recruitment Consultant specialising in Ancillary and Hospitality in the Oxfordshire area
Manpower Recruitment is looking for a Sous Chef on a Full Time, Permanent basis located in Oxford, within an established restaurant setting, working between two nearby restaurant locations.
The role will be working 5/7 days, including weekends, evenings, and Bank Holidays.
The role offers a salary of £38,000 per annum.
Experience with fresh products is essential. As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef and spend your days serving delicious food in a well-equipped kitchen while developing your culinary skills.
Sous Chef responsibilities include:
* Helping in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus
* Producing high-quality plates both in design and taste
* Ensuring that the kitchen operates in a timely manner that meets our quality standards
Additional Responsibilities:
* Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
* Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and manage any problematic situations
* Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedules, and assess staff performance
* Order supplies to maintain appropriate inventory
* Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
* Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
Requirements and Skills:
* Experience as a Sous Chef or at a level to step up
* Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
* Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
* Ability to handle emergency situations with accuracy and speed
* Familiarity with industry best practices
* Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
