The Role
We have an exciting opportunity within our expert QA Team at Howden Insurance Brokers Limited (HIBL). This role involves supporting all aspects of testing for various business systems and third-party integrations. You will manage the full QA lifecycle, including preparation of test strategies, test plans, creation of test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, and defect management. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure new systems, improvements, and integrations are thoroughly tested before release.
No prior experience is required as full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to start or change their career in software testing.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Prepare, maintain, and execute test scripts.
2. Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) for software upgrades.
3. Coordinate testing appointments and materials.
4. Log, investigate, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
5. Occasionally travel to other Group offices to meet with business users.
6. Collate test results and prepare test summaries and presentations.
7. Communicate optimally with the Systems Manager and IT colleagues.
8. Develop a good proven understanding of broking systems.
9. Stay updated with system improvements and changes.
10. Assist with software upgrades and production deployments.
Who We're Looking For
1. Strong understanding of at least one core broking platform and system integrations used within Howden.
2. Excellent solid understanding of business processes within Howden.
3. Strong insurance knowledge.
4. Attention to detail and self-motivated.
5. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
6. Problem-solving skills and ability to share ideas.
7. Excellent prioritisation and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work towards deadlines and achieve objectives.
9. Effective interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
1. Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) with grades A-C, including English and Maths.
2. A-Level grades A-C (or equivalent).
3. Any software testing qualifications or experience is an advantage but not crucial, as full training will be provided.
