Head Chef
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Cedar Lodge, Eastfield Lane, Whitchurch-on-Thames, Reading, RG8 7EJ
You are a fantastic chef who loves to learn and wants to progress. You have ideas for menus and understand that food is the window to the soul! You have learned alongside another chef how to manage kitchens, including EHO requirements. However, you are tired of long days, split shifts, and working late into the night, leaving little time for family or friends.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a forward-thinking and growing organization. As the Head Chef at Cedar Lodge, you will be at the heart of the home along with the residents. You will have overall responsibility for the catering services within Cedar Lodge and will lead by example. Your responsibilities will include managing the team rota, food ordering, stock control (including waste management), ensuring that all allergies are recorded and communicated with your team, and liaising with residents during dining experiences. The kitchen and food preparation areas must be kept clean and tidy. You will also need to have a comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety issues, particularly regarding Basic Food Hygiene, COSHH, safe moving and handling, and working within guidelines related to cross-infection.
It is essential that you have experience in a similar environment and possess your City & Guilds 706 in Catering or NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery.
