A Day in the Life at Hazel Reporting to the Executive Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef, you can expect your working day to include the following duties: Support the Head and Sous Chefs in managing the kitchen team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all kitchen sections. Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes with precision and creativity. Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards, ensuring all regulations are followed. Assist in stock management, ordering supplies, and ensuring minimal waste. Train, mentor, and motivate junior chefs, fostering a positive team environment. Work collaboratively with the wider restaurant team to deliver an outstanding dining experience. What We Need from You To succeed in the role of Junior Sous Chef, you will need the following qualities and skills: Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie in a high-quality kitchen environment. A strong understanding of kitchen operations, including stock control, health & safety, and food hygiene. The ability to lead by example, supporting and developing junior team members. Passion for food and delivering high-quality dishes consistently. A team player with a positive, can-do attitude and excellent communication skills. The ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Flexibility to assist in various kitchen sections as required.
