ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE PASTRY CHEF, PASTRY KITCHEN

As an Executive Assistant Pastry Chef at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, you will be responsible for:
* Is accountable to the Executive Pastry Chef and Executive Chef, ensuring excellent quality throughout the pastry/bakery/dessert offerings in Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park including Rosebery, Banqueting, In-Room Dining, Amenities, Breakfast and the colleague restaurant.
* To supervise and co-ordinate all pastry, bakery, and dessert preparation/presentation.
* To develop appropriate seasonal menu offerings in line with the different outlets.
* To control and assure that hygiene requirements are in line with the hotels standards and compliant with MO’s Safe, Sound and Sustainable regulations.
As an Assistant Executive Pastry Chef, you will be working on a rotating shift basis, Monday to Sunday. Shift patterns will vary from morning and evening shifts (including weekends and bank holidays), so flexibility is required where applicable.
To be a successful Assistant Executive Pastry Chef candidate, you must have previous management experience within a pastry kitchen, ideally in a high-end, luxury setting. You will demonstrate high-level of technical abilities in pastry, creatively support the hotels team for amenities and special promotions within the pastry offering and will possess excellent management skills - being able to effectively lead and inspire your team.
