Responsibilities:
* Create a variety of desserts, pastries, and confections while ensuring the highest quality and presentation.
* Collaborate with the head chef to develop new dessert menus and seasonal items.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, following health and safety regulations.
* Manage inventory and order supplies for the pastry kitchen as needed.
* Supervise and train pastry kitchen staff, providing guidance and support in pastry techniques.
* Experiment with new recipes and techniques to enhance offerings and improve overall menu variety.
* Monitor and control food costs and waste to ensure budget adherence.
* Stay updated on industry trends and emerging pastry techniques to incorporate into offerings.
Essential Qualifications:
* Completion of a culinary program with a focus on pastry arts.
* Strong understanding of baking techniques and pastry principles.
* Excellent attention to detail and creativity in dessert presentation.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
* Strong communication skills for collaborating with kitchen staff and management.
Desired Experience:
* Previous experience as a pastry chef in a fine dining or upscale hotel setting.
* Proven track record of creating high-quality pastries and desserts.
* Experience managing a team in a kitchen environment is preferred.
