Sous Chef - Hackney
Tempest is working with a college in the borough of Hackney who are looking for a sous chef to join their team on a temporary basis from January.
Responsibilities:
* To keep the kitchen and back of house areas in a clean, hygienic state at all times to company standards.
* To ensure the kitchen has a constant flow of clean equipment to see it through the day and night.
* To keep a safe environment for yourselves and for your colleagues in the process of your job.
* To follow the cleaning schedules and complete to a high standard under the supervision of the senior chef in your area.
* To work as a major part of the kitchen brigade in helping to produce a cleanliness quality of excellent standard.
* To be trained in COSHH and always follow the procedures for chemical usage.
Required Skills:
* Culinary Expertise: Proficient in cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation with attention to quality.
* Team Leadership: Ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient operation.
* Health and Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of food safety regulations and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen.
* Time Management: Ability to manage kitchen tasks efficiently, ensuring timely meal preparation.
* Budget and Inventory Control: Experience in managing food costs, inventory, and minimising waste.
