This high-quality care home in this leafy suburb in North Leeds caters for up to 70 residents, providing breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinners for early evening meals, all made fresh in-house, including all cakes and pastries. A knowledge of basic bakery is a must.
Working within a 3-person team, with a sous chef and kitchen assistants, everything is set up here to allow you to succeed, from the very well supplied kitchen and equipment, to the fresh food menus which you will be asked to contribute to designing, to the industry-leading support and compliance procedures. Everything is in place to allow you to be at your best every day.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
1. Minimum 3 years working as a head chef/kitchen manager
2. Comfortable being customer-facing as the role requires consultation with patients for dietary needs
3. Experience managing teams in a fast-paced kitchen environment
4. Health & safety procedures including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH) and food safety standards
5. Proven chef and people management experience
6. Basic knowledge of dietary requirements for older people and the impact of food types on medication
7. Basic understanding of IDDSI
8. Working with fresh seasonal produce
9. Baking & cake making skills
