About the Role
As Chef / Sous Chef at The Bear Inn, you’ll be a key part of our kitchen, bringing creativity, passion, and teamwork to everything you do. Working closely with our Head Chef, you’ll assist in menu development, food preparation, and ensuring that our high standards of quality and presentation are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes with a focus on locally sourced ingredients.
* Support the Head Chef in planning, creating, and innovating seasonal menus.
* Help manage kitchen operations, including stock control, food safety, and hygiene practices.
* Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, ensuring smooth, efficient service.
* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
About You
* Proven experience as a Chef or Sous Chef in a busy kitchen environment.
* Passion for food, creativity, and a commitment to using fresh, local ingredients.
* Strong understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene standards.
* A positive, team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills.
