Job Description
At Alten LTD, we are looking for an experienced EMC Tester to join our team and support projects within the automotive, aerospace, defence, and energy sectors. You will be responsible for conducting electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing on electronic and electrical components, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with EMC test equipment.
Your main responsibilities will be:
1. Perform EMC testing on electronic and electrical systems in accordance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 11452, CISPR 25, MIL-STD-461, DO-160).
2. Conduct radiated and conducted emissions, immunity, and susceptibility tests.
3. Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and reports.
4. Operate EMC test chambers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and other test equipment.
5. Analyze test results, identify failures, and provide technical recommendations for mitigation.
6. Work closely with design, validation, and compliance teams to ensure product certification.
7. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
8. Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting of EMC-related issues.
Who are we looking for?
1. Experience in EMC testing within automotive, aerospace, defence, or energy sectors.
2. Proficiency in using EMC test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, LISNs, amplifiers, and antennas.
3. Knowledge of EMC standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, IEC, MIL-STD, CISPR, DO-160).
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
6. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications
Experience, skills, and qualifications required:
* Experience with EMC chamber setup and calibration.
* Familiarity with RF and shielding techniques.
* Knowledge of signal integrity and PCB design considerations for EMC compliance.
* Previous experience in safety-critical industries.
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
