Sous Chef - Hackney Sous chef - College Tempest is working with a college in the borough of Hackney who are looking for a sous chef to join their team on a temporary basis from January. Responsibilities - To keep the kitchen and back of house areas in a clean, hygienic state at all times to company standards. To ensure the kitchen has a constant flow of clean equipment to see it through the day and night. To keep a safe environment for yourselves and for your colleagues in the process of your job. To follow the cleaning schedules and complete to a high standard under the supervision of the senior chef in your area. To work as a major part of the kitchen brigade in helping to produce a cleanliness quality of excellent standard. To be trained in COSHH and always follow the procedures for chemical usage. Required skills and responsibilities - Culinary Expertise: Proficient in cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation with attention to quality. Team Leadership: Ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient operation. Health and Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of food safety regulations and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen. Time Management: Ability to manage kitchen tasks efficiently, ensuring timely meal preparation.
